Susan Breuer is a life-long Christian Scientist who, at the young age of 15, knew that she wanted to become a Christian Science Practitioner.
With violin as her primary instrument, she received a BA in music from San Jose State University in California and then went on to receive her MA in Education from Stanford University. After graduating, she moved to Washington, D.C. and had Primary Class instruction with C. Ross Cunningham.
Susan has done a wide variety of things professionally in music. She played violin with various groups, taught over 200 violin students, worked alongside the Associate first violist of the National Symphony, coached High School Musicals, and sang and toured with various choral groups.
In 2012 she was the keynote speaker for the Church Alive Summit in Florida and handled the Practitioner Breakout Session for the Church Alive Summit in Northern California. In 2014 The Mother Church asked Susan to facilitate Roundtable Practitioner workshops for the Western region. She has given numerous addresses to Christian Science Associations throughout the country and has served on various Christian Science boards including PVNS (the Peninsula Visiting Nurse Service) and the Twelveacres Organization.
She became a Journal listed practitioner in 2005 and subsequently had Normal Class with Margaret Rogers in 2021.
Susan says that being a teacher of Christian Science is an opportunity to share with others the knowledge of the Christ that has been so generously given to her throughout her lifetime.
Susan shares a home with Ed her husband, and Lucy, her Parrotlet. In her free time, she likes going on adventure trips, riding her bicycle, and running.
